1. Introduction
Recipe Pro ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use this website or, if made available, our mobile application and related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, name, and profile picture when you create an account
- Dietary Preferences: Food allergies, dietary restrictions, and nutritional goals you set
- Recipe Data: Ingredients you enter, recipes you save, and meal plans you create
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: Features used, recipes viewed, time spent in app
2.3 Creator Codes
If you enter an optional Creator Code, we record which creator referred you so we can pay that creator a share of revenue. For this purpose, we keep the referral link on your account and records of your subscription purchases (transaction identifiers, amounts, and dates) associated with that creator, using a hashed account identifier. Creator Codes never change what you pay or unlock features. This referral link cannot be transferred to another creator and is deleted when your account is deleted.
2.4 Launch waitlist
If you join the Recipe Pro launch waitlist, we collect the email address you provide and a record of your consent to receive launch updates. We use this information only to administer the waitlist and, if launch updates are sent, to send those updates in line with your consent. A successful signup response does not mean that an email was sent. Joining the waitlist does not create an app account or purchase a subscription.
You may withdraw consent or request removal of your waitlist email at any time by contacting chef@recipepro.io. If launch update emails are sent, they will include an unsubscribe method. We retain waitlist information while it is needed to administer the list, or until you request removal or withdraw consent, subject to any retention required by law.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Generate personalized AI-powered recipes based on your ingredients and preferences
- Create meal plans tailored to your nutritional goals
- Process subscriptions and manage your account
- Send important updates about your account or our services
- Administer the launch waitlist and send launch updates only where you have consented
- Improve our app's features and user experience
- Respond to your support requests
4. Third-Party Services
If app features are made available, they may use third-party service providers such as:
- OpenAI: To generate recipes and meal plans and transcribe recorded voice ingredients. Depending on the feature, entered ingredients, dietary restrictions, nutrition targets, or recorded audio are sent to OpenAI. Consent-aware app versions ask for explicit permission before sending this data. You can change that permission in Profile → AI Data Sharing; declining leaves browsing and saved recipes available. Withdrawing permission stops future AI requests but cannot recall data already sent. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to its processing.
- RevenueCat: To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases if those features are offered
- Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication
- Grocery services: Any third-party grocery integrations, if offered in a future release, would be subject to the applicable service's privacy terms. Production approval for Instacart ordering is pending.
- Google AdMob: To display advertisements if included in an app experience
5. Data Sharing
Recipe reports: If you report a recipe in the app, we store your selected reason, optional comments, a copy of the reported recipe text, and an account identifier in a private review queue. Authorized administrators use reports to review safety issues and inform content filtering and moderation. Reports are not sent to OpenAI by the reporting feature. Reports associated with your account are removed when that account is deleted.
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data:
- With service providers who help us operate the app
- When required by law or to protect our rights
- With your consent for specific features (like sharing recipes with friends)
6. Data Security
We use safeguards intended to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correct: Update inaccurate information
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and data
- Export: Download your recipes and meal plans
8. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the app:
- Go to Profile → Settings
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
Upon deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days. You can also email us at chef@recipepro.io to request account deletion.
9. Children's Privacy
Recipe Pro is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.
